Sheraton Sanya Resort Bolsters Starwood`s Presence in China and Increases Number of Properties to 16

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) has announced the opening of the Sheraton Sanya Resort on Hainan Island in China.

Located in the heart of Yalong Bay on the tropical Hainan Island, the Sheraton Sanya Resort commands a prime beachfront location and spectacular sea views. It is the first international resort on Hainan Island and will establish a new level of upscale services and amenities that are uniquely Sheraton.

Surrounded by 1,148 feet of white sandy beach, Sheraton Sanya Resort offers 511 rooms including 49 spacious suites. Each room offers different choices of views, from impeccable vistas of Yalong Bay to tropical gardens and lagoons to the 18-hole Yalong Bay Golf Club. The Suites at the Sheraton Sanya Resort encompass over 2,300-square feet equipped with modern amenities. The Diplomat Suite offers a 764-square foot balcony and a private Jacuzzi overlooking the pristine waters of Yalong Bay.
