Wyndham International Adds Management Contracts For Wyndham Brand

Wyndham International, Inc., the paired operating company to Patriot American Hospitality, Inc. (NYSE:PAH), announced today that it has been selected to manage two more properties in key resort destinations, according to James D. Carreker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wyndham International, Inc.

“The Wyndham brand was the fastest growing brand in North America last year, adding 34 hotels through acquisitions, conversions and development. After last year`s record pace, we are pleased with our continued progress and the growing appeal of the Wyndham brand to third-party hotel and resort owners,” said Carreker.

The number of Wyndham Resorts has grown from seven to 13 since early 1998. A repositioning strategy, launched in November 1998, introduced Wyndham`s new resort brand and will help drive future growth, according to Carreker.

The 1064-room Marriott International Drive in Orlando will convert to a Wyndham Resort on April 1, followed by a $36 million extensive renovation, and The Lodge at Mountain Village—A Wyndham Resort, will open its 96 units in two phases, the first occurring in June of this year.

Wyndham International, Inc. was selected to manage the former Marriott International Drive property by a pension fund advised by Stone-Levy, L.L.C. To recreate a resort atmosphere and elevate the property to Wyndham`s upscale standards, $36 million will be invested in an extensive capital campaign to meet the AAA four-diamond Wyndham Resorts model. The new resort will strengthen Wyndham International`s presence in one of the nation`s most important leisure and group markets and compliment the 1,014-room Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando(R), which the company also owns and manages.

Real estate developer, Telluride Mountain Village Ventures, L.L.C., has selected Wyndham International to manage its hotel condominium project in Telluride, Colo.

The Lodge will open in two phases. Phase I, scheduled to open in June, will include 28 condominiums, two cabins and the main lodge. Phase II will include the opening of 58 condominiums and ten cabins, scheduled to open in November.

Owners and guests of the Wyndham Lodge will also benefit from the nearby proprietary branded luxury resort—The Peaks, a Grand Bay Resort. They will be entitled to enjoy the resort`s services and amenities, and will be able to charge these services directly to their accounts at The Lodge. The Peaks is renowned for its fine dining and Golden Door Spa. This is the second time we will co-mingle our luxury and upscale brands to benefit our owners and guests. “Our expectation is that the Telluride experience will be every bit as successful as the model we introduced late last year in Puerto Rico with the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Country Club and Las Casitas, a Grand Bay Resort,” added Carreker.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is an upscale, full-service hotel chain.
