Thistle Hotels Appoints Two New Sales Roles

Thistle Hotels has made two new sales appointments, following the re-structure of the UK-wide sales team.


Tracy Halliwell joins as director of sales for London, taking on responsibility for Thistle`s 23 hotels in the Capital. Halliwell joins from Le Meridian Hotels & Resorts, where she held a number of senior roles over the last eight years, most recently VP of sales for the western region of the USA, based in Los Angeles.


Halliwell`s key responsibility in the new role will be to manage London sales, support the hotel sales teams and sell Thistle Hotels both in and out of London. Halliwell replaces James Lee, who remains with Thistle Hotels as director of sales for the provinces.


Luc Genest has been appointed to the newly created role of head of business travel sales and joins from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he was director of global sales UK & Ireland. Genest`s key aim for the new role will be to develop Thistle`s market share within the corporate and business travel agency sectors, both in the UK and overseas.


Commenting on the two new appointments, William Burton, director of sales & marketing for Thistle Hotels: “The last few months has seen a re-structure of the Thistle sales team throughout the UK and at hotel level and these two high level appointments complete a high successfully transition. I`m delighted to have both Tracy and Luc on board, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company”.
