Marriott International, Inc. (MAR / NYSE) has been named 1999`s Most Admired Company in the lodging industry by Fortune magazine.

Last year, Fortune also recognized Marriott International as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, and named the company as one of the “50 Best Companies for Asians, Blacks and Hispanics.

Arne Sorenson, Marriott International`s chief financial officer, said, We are very pleased to be named to Fortune`s list.
