Hyatt International announces the construction of the five-star Park Hyatt Zurich began June 3, 2002, and the hotel will open in the heart of Zurich in early 2005. Located in the city`s prestigious financial and commercial district, across from the Zurich Congress Centre and just steps from the fashionable Bahnhofstrasse.

A mixed-use development, the new six storey building will consist of 18,200m2 of floor space including 142 guestrooms, a mini urban spa fitted with a high-tech gym, a 100-seat restaurant, and a bar offering quality beverages and cigars. Conference and meeting spaces will also be available.

The Zurich-based firm of Meili & Peter Architekten will meld transparent elements like glass with external greenery and an abundance of natural light creating a fusion of indoor and outdoor, urban and natural. Landscape consultants, Kienast Vogt Partner, will be responsible for taking the outdoors into the building and ensuring a strong commitment to ecology and conservation issues. The general contractor is Zurich based Karl Steiner AG.
