Choice Promotes New VP Information Systems Development

SILVER SPRING, MD (July 24, 2001) - Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH) announces the promotion of Jeffrey Pogemiller to vice president, information systems development. Pogemiller will be reporting directly to Gary Thomson, senior vice president and chief information officer.


“Jeff possesses a wealth of strong technical and business knowledge,” said Thomson. “He has been instrumental in the development of the ChoiceHotels.com web site as well as the ChoiceCentral.com intranet and extranet sites.”


Pogemiller and his team have been responsible for developing several major Choice systems such as Guest Privileges, Guest Relations, and Windows Agent Interface. Additionally, Pogemiller accepted increasingly higher levels of responsibility such as managing the property systems development group, client systems development group, and CRS development team. He began his career with Choice 10 years ago as a programmer / analyst working on the central reservations system developing the interfaces to the global distribution systems (e.g., Sabre, Worldspan).


He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems from Central College of Iowa and his MBA from Arizona State University.
