Grant Coonley Returns to the Hilton LA Airport

Grant Coonley has been named general manager of the 1,234-room Hilton Los Angeles Airport. Coonley was the property`s director of front office services from 1992 to 1996. He most recently served as director of rooms division for the Hilton San Francisco, a position held since 2000.

A 17-year hospitality veteran, Coonley began his career in 1985 in the front office at Harrah`s Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada. He served in the same capacity at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino from 1987 to 1988. He joined the Hilton family in 1988 as the assistant director of front office operations at the Hilton San Francisco; moved to Los Angeles to serve as the director of front office services for the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, and in 1996 returned to the Hilton San Francisco as director of front office and guest services.


A native of Carson City, Nevada, Coonley received a bachelor of science degree in managerial science from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has also taught Hotel Operations at San Francisco State University since 2000.
