Zachary Frangos Named General Manager of Wyndham Westshore

Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE:WYN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Zachary Frangos to general manager of the 324-room Wyndham Westshore Hotel in Tampa, Fla.


Frangos most recently served as the hotel manager of the celebrated Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door(R) Spa in Telluride, Colo. He began his career with Wyndham in 1999 as the assistant director of food and beverage at the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort & Country Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica. His culinary experience also includes posts at The Plaza Hotel, Hyatt Hotels, Carlson Restaurants and Sfuzzi Restaurants.
Additionally, Frangos owned and operated Zach`s Place, a successful restaurant in Philadelphia, which was sold in 1997 as three separate establishments. He is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University with degrees in hotel/restaurant management and culinary arts.
“We`re excited to have Zach join our Westshore property,” said Jeff Wagoner, Wyndham`s senior vice president of hotel operations. “His flair for the finest in hospitality and cuisine, along with his proven track record in the industry, make him the perfect choice to lead the Westshore team.”
Additionally, the Wyndham Westshore has appointed Scott Wallace as the new food and beverage director. Wallace comes to Tampa from Orlando where he managed and maintained 35,000 square feet of meeting space at the 1,056-room Wyndham Orlando Resort. Wallace`s previous positions include posts with Marriott and Doubletree Resorts. He is a graduate of St. Leo College in Florida with a degree in hotel and restaurant management.
Joining the Wyndham Westshore as associate director of sales is Travis Poppell, a nine-year veteran in the hospitality industry. Poppell comes to Tampa from St. Petersburg where he held the position of corporate sales manager for the Radisson Conference Center.
“Scott`s experience in the hospitality industry along with his knowledge of the Florida catering and events market will allow us to expand our food and beverage efforts even further,” said Frangos. “Additionally, the Westshore sales team will benefit greatly from Travis Poppell`s decade of hospitality experience.”
The Wyndham Westshore, located within five miles of downtown Tampa, is connected to the Urban Center office complex by two dramatic 11-story atria. The 324-room hotel features an outdoor heated pool, three restaurants, including a Shula`s Steak House, two lounges, a fitness center, and 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including several conference rooms and a multi-tiered amphitheater.
