Continental Expands Destinations with KLM

HOUSTON, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) is improving service for transatlantic travelers by expanding destinations served in Europe and Africa through codesharing with the Dutch carrier KLM.
Effective September 6 (pending government approval), Continental codeshare service will be available on a connecting basis, via Amsterdam, to:
Almaty, Kazakhstan
  / Budapest, Hungary
  / Casablanca, Morocco
  / Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  / Douala, Cameroon
  / Istanbul, Turkey
  / Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
  / Malabo, Equatorial Guinea
  / Prague, Czech Republic
  / Trondheim, Norway


The addition of these 10 cities gives Continental`s customers access to a total of 69 KLM destinations; 16 destinations in Africa and the Middle East and 53 destinations in Europe.
At the same time, KLM is increasing its coverage in the U.S. by adding codeshare service to more Continental destinations, for a total of 68 U.S. airports.
Benefits of this codesharing for Continental customers include easier ticketing, check-in, connections and baggage transfer for itineraries involving both carriers. Continental customers can earn OnePass frequent flyer miles for all travel on KLM and can redeem mileage for reward travel on KLM as well. Members of Continental`s Presidents Club are welcomed in KLM Crown Lounges while connecting in Amsterdam.
