Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced that Hank Brown has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Frontier Airlines. With the addition of Brown, the airline’s Board consists of eight directors. Brown, 63, has been appointed to serve a term through the airline’s next annual shareholders meeting, which will take place in September 2003.

Chairman of the Board Sam Addoms stated, “We are very pleased that Hank will be joining Frontier’s Board as he has a long, distinguished history as a leader with some of Colorado’s most respected institutions. His experiences have been cultivated over a lifetime spent in both public and private service, and we welcome his business acumen and knowledge.”

Brown, Colorado native, is the current president and chief executive officer of the Daniels Fund, a charitable foundation. Prior to that position, he served as president of the University of Northern Colorado. From 1990 through 1997, Brown served as a United States Senator, and also served five consecutive terms in the U. S. House of Representatives, representing Colorado`s 4th Congressional District. Brown’s public service also included serving in the Colorado Senate from 1972-1976. He served as a vice president for Monfort of Colorado for 12 years, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado, and a Master of Law degree from George Washington University. Brown is a certified public accountant, and also serves on the board of directors at Alaris Medical, Inc., StarTek, Inc., and Sealed Air Corporation. Brown served in the U.S. Navy for four years and volunteered for service in Viet Nam, where he was decorated for his combat service as a forward air controller. Brown currently resides in Denver with his wife Nan. They have three adult children and one granddaughter.

Denver-based Frontier Airlines employs approximately 3,100 aviation professionals and is the second largest jet service carrier at Denver International Airport. Frontier and its regional jet partner Frontier JetExpress offer service to 38 cities. Frontier’s fleet consists of 36 aircraft, which feature a single-class configuration. In 2002, for the fourth consecutive year, Frontier`s maintenance and engineering department has received the Federal Aviation Administration`s highest award, the Diamond Certificate of Excellence. This award signifies 100 percent of the airline’s maintenance and engineering employees have completed advanced aircraft maintenance training programs.
