Southwest Airlines Names New Station Manager For Albany


ALBANY, N.Y.-Nov. 22, 2002-Southwest Airlines recently named Chris Rupprecht as the new Station Manager at Albany International Airport. He will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the airline`s flight activities and continuing the high level of Customer Service. “I am honored to have been selected as the Station Manager in Albany,” said Rupprecht. “I look forward to working with the community and further developing our relationship with the Capitol Region.”
Dedication and hard work have paid off for Rupprecht, who joined the Southwest family in 1995 as a Customer Service Agent in Sacramento. He was promoted to Customer Service Supervisor in 1997. Two years later, he transferred to the East Coast when Southwest began service to Long Island/Islip. He was promoted again in 2001 to Customer Service Manager at Baltimore/Washington, Southwest`s fourth busiest city.
“Chris`s tenure with the company, coupled with his indomitable spirit and winning personality, will be a great asset to our team in Albany,” said Matt Hafner, Southwest`s Northeast Regional Director. Rupprecht`s experience is complemented by his participation in Southwest`s Managers in Training Program, an intense four-week course designed to enhance and Employee`s leadership skills. He also was awarded the company`s Winning Spirit Award in 1999, an honor given to Employees for going above and beyond the call of duty. Southwest currently offers ten daily nonstop flights from Albany to Baltimore/Washington, Las Vegas, and Orlando, plus additional direct or connecting service to 33 other cities nationwide.
