Delta Simplifies Award Redemption

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is making it easier for SkyMiles members to redeem frequent flyer miles for award travel. Members now can use one award for travel to more than 425 worldwide destinations on any combination of SkyTeam carriers. A new award destination chart, now available at delta.com/skymiles, also provides members with a complete list of worldwide award travel offerings from Delta and its SkyTeam partners.
The chart includes several new and reduced mileage frequent flyer travel awards for First, Business and Economy Class flights throughout the world. New awards include routes between Central America or South America and Southeast Asia, Africa or India. Mileage redemption levels have been reduced for award travel between the continental United States, Alaska or Canada and North Africa as well as between North Africa and Europe.

“Our members now have more mileage redemption options than ever before, and this new chart makes it easier for them to understand and redeem miles for travel throughout the world,” said Rob Borden, Delta’s general manager of SkyMiles Customer Loyalty Programs. “The chart also continues our trend of putting self-service tools in the hands of our members, and it complements the convenience of using just one award ticket for worldwide travel on any combination of SkyTeam airlines.”

In addition to its online location at delta.com/skymiles, the chart will be published in the October 2002 edition of Delta’s SkyMiles newsletter.

To make reservations or for more information on award travel, SkyMiles members should call the telephone number listed on the back of their membership card. All standard Delta SkyMiles program rules and conditions apply.

Delta SkyMiles members earn mileage by flying Delta, Delta Connection carriers, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle and Delta`s airline partners, including Delta`s SkyTeam partners.  The Delta SkyMiles program offers many other mileage-building opportunities, including the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express, AT&T telecommunication services, Nextel® wireless services, EarthLink? Internet services, participating hotels, car rental companies, restaurants, home buying and selling, cruise line and flower purchases.  The SkyMiles program received InsideFlyer`s 2001 Industry Impact Award for industry-leading and customer-focused promotions.
