FORT WORTH, Texas - Wishes will come true for 16 children afflicted with life-threatening illnesses as the Seventh Annual WishFlight takes to the skies Oct. 10.

American Airlines and American Eagle have joined forces with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and Give Kids The World® to arrange flights for the children. Flights will originate from New York City’s LaGuardia Airport on an American Eagle jet decorated with the Make-A-Wish® logo and from Dallas/Fort Worth on an American Airlines 757. Both flights will arrive simultaneously in Orlando. This is the first year American Eagle will participate, by providing four wish children and their families travel to Orlando from New York City.

Children and their families departing from both cities will participate in several events leading up to flight departure, including special dinners the evening before and bon voyage events in both locations.

Wish Flight 2002 is hosted by American Airlines, American Eagle and the Something MAAgic Foundation, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and Give Kids The World®. The donation-funded event received contributions from corporations such as ARAMARK, The Fort Worth Zoo, ExxonMobil, Citgo, ChevronTexaco, The Miller Company, American Airlines Credit Union, Embassy Suites, The Institute of Culinary Education, InterCall and The Park Central Hotel.
