Frontier Airlines Names Captain Terry King Vice President - Flight Operations

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today named Captain Terry King as vice president, flight operations, effective immediately. In this newly created position, King, 52, will oversee the airline`s flight operations department and will report directly to Executive Vice President of Operations Jim Wyche. Frontier`s flight operations department is comprised of approximately 250 employees, including pilots, dispatch, crew scheduling and flight training.

“Terry is an industry veteran and brings nearly 30 years of aviation and flight operations experience to this new position. We are extremely pleased that he has accepted this leadership position and we look forward to both his technical and management experience in the area of pilot training and flight operations,” said Wyche.


King has served with the airline since 1994 in a variety of capacities, including chief pilot, check airman and captain. During the airline`s pre-startup period, King conducted proving runs for the airline and assisted in writing the airline`s initial pilot training manuals.


King`s background includes serving as a flight instructor for Denver-based Clinton Aviation Flight School and as a technical writer for Jeppesen Company. His airline experience includes Continental Airlines, Tucson-based Sierra Pacific Airlines and Salt Lake City-based Morris Air. King served with the former Frontier Airlines from 1972-1986 in various capacities, including deputy director of flight operations training. King holds a bachelor`s of science degree in secondary education from the University of Colorado, and currently resides in Aurora.
