Frontier Airlines Names Ann Block Vice President - Human Resources

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today named Ann Block as vice president, human resources, effective March 29. Block brings over 20 years of human resources, strategic planning, administration and management experience to the airline and most recently served as director, human resources strategy and services for BlueCross BlueShield of Colorado. In this newly created position, Block, 49, will lead all human resource functions and will report directly to President Sam Addoms.

Block began her career in customer services at Public Service Company of Colorado. She progressed to positions of increasing responsibility and gained experience in the areas of project management, strategic planning, facilities management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development and business process improvements. From 1996-1997, she served as director, total compensation for HR Source, Inc. In 1997, Block became co-founder and president of Block, Loesch & Associates, a human resources consulting company that specializes in the development of workforce strategies and human resource programs that are aligned to the business strategies. Block`s current assignment with BlueCross BlueShield of Colorado began in 1998 and consists of staffing, employee relations, training, workforce diversity and business operations support for a workforce of approximately 1,600 employees in Colorado and Nevada.


Block holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Southern California and is currently a board member for Human Services, Inc. She was formerly on an advisory board of the University of Idaho, a board member of Girls Inc. and past president of Metro Volunteers, the Technical Assistance Center and the YWCA. She was named Executive of the Year by the National Management Association in 1992 and is also a past recipient of the YWCA`s Women of Achievement Honoree award. Block currently resides in Denver with her husband Woody and their two daughters, Lisa, 20, and Katie, 18.
