Frontier Airlines Announces November Traffic

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced traffic results for November 1998. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased to 94,898,000 for November 1998, an increase of 30.8 percent from the same period last year. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased to 197,237,000 for November 1998, an increase of 23.0 percent from the same period last year. The load factor for November 1998 was 48.1 percent, up 2.9 points from November 1997, when the airline reported a load factor of 45.2 percent. The airline carried 107,027 passengers during November 1998, an 23.3 percent increase from November 1997.

Calendar year-to-date RPMs increased 35.5 percent to 1,258,115,000; calendar year-to-date ASMs increased 31.3 percent to 2,129,277,000. The airline`s year-to-date load factor was 59.1 percent, an increase of 1.8 points from the same period last year. For the eleven months ended November 1998, the airline carried 1,380,932 passengers, an increase of 14.6 percent from the same period last year.


“Our November traffic results are encouraging because our traffic growth continues to outpace capacity. More importantly, year-over-year yield comparisons demonstrate ongoing and significant improvements,” said Jeff Potter, vice president of marketing. “In addition, we are observing strong bookings for our three new cities, Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth and Las Vegas, which we will begin serving next week, December 17.”
