Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced two separate aircraft lease agreements for new Boeing 737-300 jets, one from Air New Zealand, and the other from Heller Financial, Inc., Chicago. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

The two 136-seat aircraft are scheduled to go into service in mid-December 1998, bringing Frontier`s fleet to 17 Boeing 737 jets. Including the aircraft in today`s announcement, Frontier`s fleet consists of nine 737-300s and eight 737-200s. As previously announced, the eighth 737-200 is a 119-seat Advanced aircraft leased from Interlease Aviation Investors LLC, Northfield, Ill. It is scheduled to go into service in early November and will be used for charters and additional flight frequencies during holiday traffic periods.

Frontier President Sam Addoms said, “The three aircraft additions will allow us to significantly strengthen our Denver hub by initiating service to three major new markets in different areas of the country starting in mid-December.”

The new cities, which will be announced shortly, will bring to 18 the number of points linked to Denver on Frontier`s coast-to-coast and border-to-border route system.
