Spirit Airlines’ June 2001 Traffic Maintains Upward Trend

Spirit Airlines announces continued growth in traffic figures for June 2001. Spirit carried 303,744 passengers during the month of June, a 53.4 percent gain from the same period in 2000. This is the 34th consecutive month that Spirit has experienced gains in passenger traffic.

Spirit’s load factor reached 77.0 percent, up 4.3 percentage points from June 2000.

“Spirit continues to reach new heights with our traffic figures due to our expanded service and everyday low-fares,” said Ned Homfeld, chairman and founder of Spirit Airlines. “We look forward to continuing this upward trend as new and expanded service launches this fall. We’ll be adding service between Chicago/O’Hare and Tampa as well as serving West Palm Beach from both Detroit and Atlantic City.”

June’s revenue passenger miles (RPM’s) reached 310,279 with a 61.3 percent gain over June 2000.

Available seat miles (ASMs) continue to rise with a 52.2 percent increase versus June 2000.
