21 September 2000, following Thai Airways International`s Board of Directors` Meeting, THAI`s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Mahidol Chantrangkurn, announced results on selection of the incumbent airline president. Out of 7 short-listed candidates, a total of 3 candidates were selected by the Selection Committee for the Board of Directors` consideration: Mr. Chaisak Saeng-Xuto, Mr. Prajak Jamrusmechoti (THAI`s Executive Vice President for Commercial), and Mr. Bhisit Kuslasayanon (THAI`s Executive Vice President for Customer Services). Following a vote by THAI`s Board of Directors, Mr. Bhisit Kuslasayanon was unanimously selected as THAI`s next incumbing president, effective as of 1 October 2000 onwards. THAI`s current president, Mr. Thamnoon Wanglee, will retire on 30 September 2000.
