Vanguard Airlines Reports A 12% Increase In July Traffic

Kansas City, MO—Vanguard Airlines, Inc. (NasdaqSC: VNGD) reported that for the month of July 2000 traffic increased 12% to approximately 99.8 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in July 2000 from approximately 88.7 million in July 1999. Capacity increased 30% to approximately 154.0 million available seat miles (ASMs) in July 2000 versus 118.3 million in July 1999. Load factor decreased approximately 10 points to 64.8% in July 2000 from approximately 75.0% in July 1999.


Year-to-date RPMs increased 19% to approximately 577.8 million in 2000 from approximately 485.2 million in 1999. Year-to-date ASMs increased 37% to approximately 941.2 million in 2000 from approximately 686.2 million in 1999. Year-to-date load factor decreased approximately 9 points to 61.4% in 2000 from 70.7% in 1999.
