Ram Menen, Emirates` Senior General Manager Cargo, has been honoured for his contribution to his airline and to the industry as a whole by one of the UK`s leading freight industry publications.

International Freighting Weekly (IFW), which covers all modes of transportation, presented Ram with their Special Achievement Award at their annual awards presentation in London.

This is presented each year to someone who has driven the process of change in his or her business, recognising and responding to the evolving world around them.

Ram Menen, who has headed Emirates` air freight division from the start, is strongly committed to cargo automation and seamless communication between the parties in the supply chain. He and his team designed the concept for SkyChain and worked on its development with Mercator, the Emirates Group`s IT subsidiary.

Launched last May, SkyChain is the most advanced network of integrated cargo management and information systems in the world
