TBI plc And easyjet plc - Joint Statement Re. Extension Of Agreement At London Luton Airport

TBI plc, the owner and operator of regional airports and related businesses and easyJet plc, the low-cost airline, announce that they are both working together towards a mutually-beneficial agreement regarding passenger and baggage handling fees and associated services at London Luton Airport.

A new agreement between TBI and easyJet will aim to ensure that the airport facilities and services can match the potential quantity and profile of passengers using the airport.

TBI and easyJet already have a successful working relationship at Belfast International Airport (“BIA”), which is wholly owned by TBI. easyJet started operating flights from BIA to Luton in 1998 and has since added services to other domestic and international destinations. easyJet will be extending its services to Scottish destinations in August 2001.

While the discussions, which were recently initiated, continue, the companies have agreed an extension to the existing agreement for one month until 31 August 2001.
