Virgin Blue Takes Off With Flight Centre

Virgin Blue Airlines announced today it has reached a sales and distribution agreement with Flight Centre Limited.


The agreement involves Flight Centre selling Virgin Blue`s low fare seats throughout its network of more than 400 stores across Australia.


Virgin Blue`s Head of Commercial, David Huttner said, “We are looking forward to working with the Flight Centre team to make travel more affordable and accessible for the Australian public.”


He continued, “You don`t need to be a ?preferred carrier` to have a mutually beneficial relationship with a leading distributor like Flight Centre.”


Virgin Blue recognises the importance of working with travel agents and is keen to develop a solid long-term relationship with the travel trade.

Patrick Bourke, Contract Manager of Flight Centre, welcomed the agreement by stating, “The deal between Flight Centre and Virgin Blue Airlines is in line with our growth and our guarantee to provide our clients with an entire range of quality travel services at the lowest prices.”


Virgin Blue plans to launch into the Australian skies before the Sydney 2000 Olympics, initially introducing a Brisbane-Sydney service 7 times a day, to be closely followed by Brisbane-Melbourne
