Continental Airlines Announces The Election Of Larry Kellner As President

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) announced
that Larry Kellner was named president of the company by its board of
directors today.  Kellner, formerly executive vice president and chief
financial officer of Continental, also was elected to the company`s board of
directors at the annual meeting of stockholders today.

In addition, C.D. McLean, former executive vice president—operations,
was elected executive vice president and chief operating officer, and Jeff
Smisek, former executive vice president and general counsel, was elected
executive vice president—corporate.

“Larry`s contributions during the past six years have been invaluable, and
I know that he will continue to be a driving force in our success,” said
Chairman and CEO Gordon Bethune.  “C.D. and Jeff round out a management team
that I`d rate as the best anywhere.”

At the board meeting, Jeff Misner, previously vice president, was named
senior vice president—finance, and Gerry Laderman was named senior vice
president—finance and treasurer.  Vice President and Assistant Secretary
Jennifer Vogel was also named general counsel.

“Our entire management team has worked together to make Continental the
best airline in the country,” said Bethune.  “Each of these officers has been
a vital part of our success.”
