Air Canada And Cara Sign Long-Term Agreement

Air Canada today announced it has entered into a long-term partnership agreement with Cara Operations Limited. The ten year agreement, valued in excess of $1.5 billion, confirms Cara as the provider of catering and commissary services to Air Canada until November 2009.

“Air Canada`s partnership with Cara, Canada`s premier airline caterer, results in significant benefits for both Air Canada and Cara over the next ten years,” said Paul Brotto, Senior Vice President, Business Development. “The agreement will ensure Air Canada meets its financial, operational and customer service objectives as well as provide profitable growth for Cara. This agreement represents another key example of the actions Air Canada is taking to enhance shareholder value.”

Cara Operations Limited is Canada`s largest food service company, operating the well known Harvey`s and Swiss Chalet brands. Cara is also the controlling shareholder of Kelsey`s International Inc. and the most significant shareholder of the Second Cup Ltd. and the Spectra Group of Great Restaurants.
