Delta Connection Begins Jet Service Between Philadelphia and New York

CINCINNATI, June 17, 2002—Delta Connection now offers customers nonstop jet service between Philadelphia and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Delta Connection carrier Comair is operating two nonstop, round-trip flights daily with Canadair regional jets (CRJ).

Customers traveling to New York (JFK) have easy access to 45 domestic and international destinations on Delta, Delta Connection or Delta’s SkyTeam partners, including service to SkyTeam hubs in Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Rome, Milan and Prague.

“By offering the only nonstop jet service between Philadelphia and JFK, we have increased convenience for domestic and international travelers in the Northeast,” said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer of Delta Connection, Inc.

Known for its convenience, comfort and speed, the CRJ carries passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at a speed of 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet and is recognized as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world.

Delta Connection includes wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers ACA, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle. Delta Connection carriers operate more than 250 regional jets throughout North America. For more information, please visit delta.com.
