SWISS Appointed New Secretary General

The SWISS Board of Directors has appointed Reto Schmid as its new Secretary General.  Schmid, who is 35 years old, brings extensive experience as a business attorney to his new position.  He has also been actively involved in Project Phoenix Plus over the past few months, serving as project manager for the Vischer law firm.  He assumed his new SWISS duties on May 1.

Reto Schmid`s prime duty as Secretary General will be to assist the Chairman of the Board, the entire Board of Directors and its various committees.  His brief also extends to close involvement in special projects, planning and preparing the company`s General Meetings. He will further be responsible for ensuring the company`s compliance with all stock exchange provisions; and he will support the Board and Executive Management on corporate governance, corporate organisation and reporting issues and concerns.

Reto Schmid is an attorney at law who has accumulated several years of professional experience with Pestalozzi Haegi & Partner (in Zurich) and Vischer (in Basel and Zurich).  Prior to these positions, he served as a Legal Secretary at the Meilen District Court.  He completed a bachelor`s degree in law at the University of Zurich, and went on to obtain a master`s degree in comparative jurisprudence from the New York University School of Law.
