ASTA Town Hall Teleconference To Offer Advice, Respond to Member Questions

In an effort to help its members thrive in the new travel industry marketplace, the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) will hold a teleconference Town Hall Meeting on March 28 to provide business solutions and respond to questions about the recent industry changes.

“With the airlines` decisions to eliminate commissions, the landscape of the travel industry has changed forever, and travel agents will have to reevaluate their business strategies in order to survive,” said ASTA President and CEO Richard M. Copland, CTC. “In the past weeks, ASTA has received hundreds of phone calls and e-mails from members with important questions about everything from adjusting service fees to what ASTA is doing to help. This teleconference provides a forum for the Society to publicly respond to the most common questions members are asking, allowing the entire ASTA community to benefit.”

Copland will respond to questions and suggestions for topics submitted to [email protected] by 3 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 27. The teleconference will be held live at 1 p.m. EST and replayed in its entirety at 4 p.m. EST the same day. Participation is free to ASTA members.

To participate, agents should contact ASTA at 703.739.2782 and ask for Member Care. Members can get more information by going to ASTAnet at www.astanet.com/members/news/cuts/index.asp.
