Travel agents can learn and earn at CTC-26

Travel Agents now have additional reasons to attend the 26th Annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-26), taking place Oct. 16 - 19, 2003 in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI).

The Travel Institute (formerly ICTA) is offering 10 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to Certified Travel Counselors (CTCs) and Certified Travel Associates (CTAs) who participate in destination presentations and niche market seminars at CTC-26. That’s up from three in previous years.

One such seminar will be conducted by Jacqueline Johnson of Conde Nast Bridal Group and will focus on weddings and honeymoons while Edward Smith, a travel industry veteran with nearly 25 years of experience, will present the ins and outs of selling eco and adventure tourism.

Bob Stalbaum, a leisure travel expert and well-known motivational speaker, will conduct a workshop entitled Developing a Strategy that Works, while Barry Seedman’s topic, See it! Feel it! Sell it, will focus on the raising the agents’ bottom line.

While these sessions are specifically geared towards travel agents, throughout the conference, agents can attend general sessions and product tours of either St. Thomas or St. John. Optional post-tours of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix are also available for agents.
