Internet Auction for Northwest Airlines .

Northwest Airlines has gone into the auction business as the carrier conducts a live auction of forty tickets and four vacation packages to select cities in Europe and Asia. (11/29/2001)
The silent auction, conducted over the Internet at nwa.com, will be accepting bids until December 3, 2001.


Northwest will auction a pair of World Business Class tickets and a pair of Coach Class tickets to each of ten select destinations throughout its international network. Asian destinations include Tokyo, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore. Auction destinations to Europe include London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris and Rome.


In addition, four Northwest WorldVacations packages, each for two people, will be available for auction to London, Paris, Bangkok and Beijing. Minimum bids have ben set at $400 for two Coach Class tickets and $1,000 for two World Business Class tickets to Asia, and $200 for two Coach Class tickets, and $600 for two World Business Class tickets to Europe, will be considered. A minimum bid of $600 for Europe, and $800 for Asia, will be required for bids on the WorldVacations packages.


Once bidding has closed at 23:59 CST on December 3, (05:59 UTC December 4), Northwest will notify the successful bidders by sending them an e-mail with a special confirmation number. All bids are binding. Upon confirmation of a winning bid, the winner`s credit card will be charged the dollar amount of the winning bid plus applicable taxes.


Travel must be booked seven days in advance of departure, but no later than December 20, 2001, and completed by April 30, 2002. Other conditions and limitations apply.
