AOL Offers LastMinuteTravel.com Deals
Atlanta-based LastMinuteTravel.com has booked a multi- year agreement with America Online, which will make its selection of just- released travel offers available through AOL travel channels.
The service will launch in September, the company said, making access available to more than 32 million AOL and CompuServe subscribers and tens of millions of additional users of AOL brands. The deals will include airline tickets, hotels, vacation packages, cruises and car rentals, the company said.
Time compression is one of the biggest challenges to today`s Lifestyle, said LastMinuteTravel.com founder and CEO David Miranda in a press release. “Increasingly both business and leisure travellers find themselves wanting or needing to book travel days or even hours before departure.” One-third of online travel consumers plan trips within two weeks of departure and 20% of online consumers plan trips within one week of departure, according to a report by the Travel Industry of America.
