Trondent Launches Advertising-Supported AirMAIL

Trondent Development Corp., a leading provider of web-based software applications and data management services to the global travel industry, has launched an advertising-supported version of its long established AirMAIL document delivery service. On the heels of their AirMAIL upgrade released in November 2008, Trondent now offers travel agencies a platform to advertise any product or service of their choice to travelers who receive an electronic itinerary or invoice.  “In an effort to maximize profits, travel agencies are looking for creative ways to generate new revenue streams”, says David Wood, Trondent’s President and CEO.  “By giving our customers the ability to place valuable and relevant advertisements on their travel documents, Trondent now provides them with a platform to do just that.  Based on customer feedback, opportunities to generate advertising revenue have been available from their vendor partnerships for some time.  The challenge, however, has been finding a cost-effective and highly visible advertising platform.  Trondent’s advertising-supported document delivery model now serves as that platform.  Ultimately, Trondent’s goal is to establish AirMAIL as a long-term, revenue generating tool for our customers, in addition to being an industry-leading document delivery system”, continued Wood.

AirMAIL’s TravelGUIDE section is configured to allow up to three unique advertisements.  The advertisements can contain unique offer codes and can also be hyperlinked to specific landing pages.  That way, if any product or service is purchased by the traveler, the advertising-related revenue can be paid to the appropriate travel agency.

TravelGUIDE, a newly added section to Trondent’s AirMAIL service, provides travelers with customized, relevant and useful information about each destination city included in their itinerary.  Using the latest geo-coding technology, TravelGUIDE provides travelers with a list of local restaurants, events and business services within close proximity to their hotel.  Travelers can set their TravelGUIDE preferences to ensure that the content matches their personal interests.  This includes: restaurant cuisines; local venue classifications; event types; imperial vs. metric measurement; etc.

Processing in excess of 45 million itinerary and invoice transactions each year on behalf of travel management companies and Fortune 500 corporations, document delivery continues to be one of Trondent’s core competencies.  AirMAIL is fully compatible with Abacus, Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan.
