Luxury resort opens in Grenada

The island of Grenada has received a boost following the opening of the first phase of a luxury US$500m boutique resort, backed by British entreprenuer Peter de Savary.
Mount Cinnamon Grenada at Grand Anse Beach in the southwest of the island now has 21 furnished homes. A further 20 to be built in phase two. The Savvy clubhouse is also now open and features an Italian restaurant, a pool, tennis courts, a gym and rooms for spa treatments.The development will also include a 125-room beachfront hotel and condo complex.
More than 75% of the homes have been sold, and a portion will be placed in a rental pool when not owner-occupied.
The resort is close to the village of Port Louis, which will be able to accommodate 300 mega-yachts.
Peter de Savary founded the worldwide St. James Clubs and the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle. His successes also include Glenborrodale Castle (Scotland), the Abaco Club (Bahamas), and Bovey Castle (England) which won Leading Golf Resort in England at the World Travel Awards.
