BAA seeks independent watchdog at Heathrow

Heathrow Airport’s owners, BAA will ask the UK Government to appoint an independent noise and air quality assessor if the third runway gets the go-ahead.A BAA spokesman has told reporters that the number of flights at Heathrow would only increase if it can operate within these limits.

“We are giving an assurance to operate within the limits. If we don’t, the number of flights could be capped,” he said.
