Gregory elected Marcus President

The Marcus Corporation has announced that its Board of Directors has elected Gregory S. Marcus, 43, president of the company.Stephen H. Marcus, 72, will continue in his current position as chairman and chief executive officer.

“Since joining The Marcus Corporation in 1992, Greg has served in various positions throughout the company, giving him a well-rounded base of experience in many aspects of our business. He has been actively involved in our real estate development and acquisition programs, and also served as chief operating officer of our former Baymont Inns & Suites division. Most recently, he served as senior vice president-corporate development and chairman of the corporate investment committee. This promotion recognizes Greg’s many contributions to the company and his strong leadership role in continuing to move the company forward,” said Stephen H. Marcus.

Gregory S. Marcus joined the company in 1992 as director of property management/corporate development. He was promoted to senior vice president - corporate development in 1999 and became an executive officer of the company in July 2005. He was elected to The Marcus Corporation Board of Directors in October 2005.

Gregory Marcus serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations including the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, where he is a former president.

Stephen H. Marcus has been chairman of the board since 1991 and president and chief executive officer since 1988. He has served the company for 45 years.
