Hertz opens Libya location

Hertz has introduced its first car rental location downtown in Libya’s capital city, Tripoli, through a franchise agreement with Trans-Africa for the Import of Cars and Spare Parts (TAIC).  A subsidiary of one of the largest business conglomerates in operation for the last 20 years in Libya, TAIC has a strong reputation in the automotive industry.

With Tripoli being the business hub of the country, the new Hertz location, which is manned by bilingual personnel, fluent in both Arabic and English, is expected to be popular amongst international business people and senior national executives. A location at Tripoli Airport will be introduced in the near future.  A full selection of vehicles, including four wheel drives, is available to hire at the location, along with Hertz services, such as Chauffeur Drive and hotel deliveries.

Richard Hillman, Director of Franchise Operations, Europe. Middle East and Africa, comments: “TAIC is a reputable conglomerate in Libya, with extensive industry expertise, which will be invaluable in establishing the Hertz brand in the country.  We are proud to support Libya’s process of economic reform and broader campaign to reintegrate with the international community, by offering the innovative services enjoyed by Hertz customers worldwide.”
