Virgin America reveals new route

Virgin America has launched
twice daily service between Washington Dulles International and San Francisco International airports, adding a fourth
route to its growing operations.As America’s newest airline, Virgin
America will also launch service from Washington Dulles to Los Angeles
International Airport (LAX) on October 24.
  “We’re thrilled to finally start flying from our nation’s capital to
the West Coast and we hope that Washingtonians like the unique features we
bring to the market,” said Fred Reid, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin
America. “With plugs for your laptop or blackberry at your seat, a
cutting-edge in- flight entertainment system with satellite TV and 25
movies, great food on demand and custom-designed leather seats—our brand
new planes were designed with the transcontinental DC traveler in mind.”
  In honor of launching service to our nation’s capital, Virgin America
is offering special fares starting at $129 Washington Dulles-SFO* and $119
Washington Dulles-LAX.* Virgin America flights to and from Washington
Dulles have conveniently-timed morning and evening departures.
  Virgin America marks the start of Washington Dulles service today with
a ribbon cutting ceremony at the departure gate, where Mr. Reid will be
joined by Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer Margaret McKeough. Guests on the inaugural flight
were also treated to a special breakfast and champagne toast at the gate
prior to sendoff.
  “We welcome Virgin America to our family of airlines at Washington
Dulles International,” said James E. Bennett, President and Chief Executive
Officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. “This unique new
service will be a great addition to our wide array of air service options
for travelers.”
  Virgin America marks the start of Washington Dulles service today with

  Virgin America will launch service on October 10 between SFO and Las
Vegas (LAS), with three daily flights. Since launch, Virgin America has
started service between SFO and LAX, SFO and New York’s John F. Kennedy
International airport (JFK), and JFK and LAX.
