Oman Air starts London flights

Oman Air plans to start non-stop services from London, providing its first direct link between London and Muscat.Oman Air will commence scheduled services from London Gatwick airport (North Terminal) to Seeb International Airport, Muscat beginning in November of this year.

The airline will operate daily service with Airbus A330-300 (6 days) and A310-300 (Sunday), between the two destinations. Two-class service with international standards of catering and entertainment will be available. A complimentary limousine service will also be offered to all business class and gold card Oman Air - Sindbad Frequent Flyers Program members when departing and arriving in London.

Ziad Karim Al Haremi, Chief Executive Officer, Oman Air in a statement said, “The introduction of the daily service from London to Muscat will provide travelers the flexibility not currently available through any other service provider in Oman. Oman Air’s decision to start operations to London comes close on the heels of our recent announcement to expand services beyond our current 21 destinations and clearly signals our expansion-based strategy in the region. We are pleased that our enhanced presence will provide travelers, particularly those in the Middle East more convenient access to London.

I am also confident that the new, direct link will stimulate increased commerce and tourism exchange between the two long-standing partners, namely the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman, and prove popular with both business and leisure travelers,” he added. Mr. Al Haremi also indicated that they would soon be announcing new destinations that would connect with the London route in the very near future.

Oman Air flies to more than 21 destinations with a fleet of new generation Boeing 737-700 and 800s and ATR-42 aircrafts. The new route sees the addition of the wide-bodied Airbus aircraft to their fleet. The fleet consists of most modern and fuel- efficient aircrafts with aesthetically designed interiors. Investment in new technology, planning, and product innovation has propelled Oman Air to the forefront of the aviation industry in the Middle East region.
