Empire Hotel hosts Brunei Open

This Summer the Empire Hotel and Country Club is proud to be hosting the prestigious Brunei Open Golf Championship for 2007 for golf fans and visitors to experience the excitement of the International event.

The Brunei Open 2007 is being contested for the third year running at the luxurious resort’s Jack Nicklaus-designed championship course from August 30th - September 2nd.  It is hosted by Brunei Tourism in conjunction with The Empire Hotel & Country Club, the Sultanate’s leading hotel.

The Empire Hotel & Country Club’s championship par-71 course is the flagship for golf in Brunei and first made its mark by being voted ‘Asia’s Leading Golf Resort’ in the World Travel Awards and is now an established venue on the Asian Tour. Designed and built by 18-time Major winner Jack Nicklaus, the Empire Golf Course is the epitome of championship golf, encompassing lush green fairways and tropical landscapes fringed by jungles with magnificent views of the South China Sea.

During The Brunei Open, The Empire Hotel and Country Club is offering The Empire Hideaway package which includes spacious 60m? superior accommodation with balcony including breakfast and return airport transfer, complimentary access to Jacuzzi, sauna, gym and five swimming polls and late check-out (subject to availability).  For those booking a minimum of 3 nights, guests receive a complimentary shuttle bus to Yayasan for a shopping excursion and for those booking 6 nights, guests receive the 7th night free.  The Empire Hideaway package costs SGD$700 for 3 nights and SGD $1330 for 6 nights.

A total of 130 of the finest players from around the world are due to feature in this year’s event for the US$300,000 prize money including defending champion and Chinese Taipei veteran Wang Ter-Chang who won last year on the second hole of a sudden death shootout with Australia’s David Gleeson.
