Aer Lingus is to launch flights to four additional European destinations, and recommence services on two other routes in its northern winter schedule, which takes effect from the end of October.New services will be launched from Dublin to Finland’s capital, Helsinki, the Romanian capital of Bucharest, Agadir in south west Morocco and Funchal, capital of Portugal’s Madeira Islands.

The airline will reintroduce flights from Dublin to Copenhagen and from Cork to Munich, and extend into the northern winter schedule recently-introduced services on the Dublin-Vilnius and Cork-Manchester routes.

Additional capacity also will be added on existing European routes from Dublin and Cork.

The additional services bring to 13 the number of new routes introduced or announced by Aer Lingus this year.

The increases are underpinned by the addition of two new Airbus A320 aircraft, which will arrive during the northern winter, and be based at Dublin airport.

Aer Lingus Chief Executive Dermot Mannion said, “The delivery of two new short-haul aircraft allows us to strengthen and grow our network. With over 60 direct services from Ireland to Europe, including popular sun, city break and business destinations, this development offers our customers more choice, greater flexibility and an enhanced travel experience.”
