Northwest inks China Airlines co-op deal

Northwest Airlines has signed an agreement
with China Airlines that launches cooperation between the two airlines
to be phased in through the summer.The agreement between Northwest and the Taiwan-based airline
features enhanced frequent flyer benefits and lounge access for
Northwest’s WorldPerks members, along with convenient electronic
ticketing and one-stop check-in for passengers connecting between
Northwest and China Airlines flights.

  “Northwest is pleased to expand its alliance portfolio in Asia to
include China Airlines,” said Nathaniel Pieper, vice president -
alliances. “This partnership adds exciting new options in Asia for our
WorldPerks members while creating more seamless travel opportunities
for all Northwest customers.”

  Northwest and China Airlines will implement the reciprocal
frequent flyer agreement effective August 1, 2007, enabling WorldPerks
members to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles on all China
Airlines-operated flights. In addition, Northwest WorldClubs members
and World Business Class customers will have access to China Airlines
airport Dynasty Lounges worldwide. China Airlines Dynasty Lounge
members will also have access to NWA WorldClubs, when traveling on
Northwest.
