Worldspan Go! boosts visual content

Worldspan has introduced a visually rich enhancement to its popular Worldspan Go! Car Booking Tool for travel agencies. Four-color images of available vehicle types, provided by car rental suppliers, can be instantly displayed by travel agents worldwide through the browser-based desktop tool. Access to vehicle images boosts the shopping experience by lending travel agents a colorful, visual aide during the vehicle selection process.

Nearly 3,000 images are available for view at the agent’s request, and the collection is growing rapidly to present any car type requested. The number of participating car rental companies is expanding as well, with images currently available from major suppliers, including Ace Rent A Car, Advantage Rent A Car, Alamo Rent A Car, Avis Rent A Car, Budget Rent A Car, Europcar, E-Z Rent- A-Car, Hertz Rent A Car and National Car Rental.

“The infusion of images into our Go! Car Booking Tool is an example of Worldspan’s continued investments in media-rich, interactive solutions that simplify shopping and booking for travel agencies,” said Sue Powers, Worldspan CIO and senior vice president - Worldwide Product Solutions. “We are focused on delivering efficient, highly intuitive desktop tools, and enriching them with new features and capabilities.”

The vehicle images enhancement complements Worldspan’s recent adoption of the Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards (ACRISS) Car Classification System. By providing photos of their offerings, car rental companies are helping to ease the travel agent’s transition to the expanded classification codes by visually marketing vehicle types that are being shopped and booked through Worldspan. Travel agents simply click the car type description to display a supplier’s image of a requested vehicle.

The Worldspan Go! Car Booking Tool is a timesaving solution that allows travel agents to shop and book rental cars using the latest technologies and interactive features. Vehicle searches and bookings are completed using point- and-click and mouse-over functionality, interactive links, pop-up calendars, dialog boxes and more. The tool was introduced in 2006, along with the Worldspan Go! Hotel Booking Tool, another interactive shopping and booking solution located right on the travel agent’s desktop.
