US Airways adds extra Masters flights

US Airways is teeing up extra flights for customers traveling to Augusta, Ga. for golf’s Masters tournament. The expanded service will begin March 30 and continue through April 9.

US Airways will increase and upgrade its current schedule of six daily flights from Charlotte, N.C. to Augusta flights to nine flights on select days. The increased service will be operated by 50-seat Dash-8s and by 70-seat and 86-seat regional jets. Additionally, the airline will offer special fares for Augusta-originating customers during this increased service period.

The airline will also implement special nonstop service between Augusta and New York City’s LaGuardia Airport and Philadelphia on select peak travel days.

“Once again we are thrilled to provide extra service at Augusta as the demand rises for air travel associated with one of golf’s most storied tournaments,” said US Airways Senior Vice President Scheduling, Planning and Alliances Andrew Nocella. “Customers will enjoy both convenient departure times into and out of Augusta as well as smooth connecting opportunities at our New York - LaGuardia, Philadelphia and Charlotte operations.”
