Air Berlin launches Domodedovo service

Air Berlin launched regular service from Nuremberg to Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport on December 22. The air link will be the first between Moscow and Nuremberg. Nuremberg will be the seventh German city linked with Domodedovo.

Air Berlin will operate its flights to Moscow three times a week - on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays - using a Boeing 737-700 with 144-seat capacity and a Boeing 737- 800 with 189-seat capacity aircraft.

It was announced in August of 2006, that Air Berlin had acquired a 100% interest in dba. In turn, dba purchased Germania Express in 2005.

Effective January 1, 2007, all dba and Germania Express flights from/to Domodedovo International Airport will be operated under the Air Berlin colours. Thus, Air Berlin will operate flights from Domodedovo to five destinations in Germany - Berlin, Dusseldorf, Munich, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart. Air link between Moscow and Karlsruhe/Baden Baden FKB via Berlin will be resumed in summer of 2007. Passengers will be able to continue their travel in Europe using connecting flights from Nuremberg to such destinations as Antalya in Turkey, Budapest, Italy (Catania, Milan-Bergamo, Rome), Canary Islands, Paris, and Vienna.
