Alitalia workers strike, travellers delayed

Alitalia cancelled 225 flights on Friday due to a strike by pilots, ground and cabin staff.
Travellers faced cancellations as Alitalia workers walked off their jobs in a 24-hour nationwide strike.

The walkout started at midnight with Alitalia saying it expected significant disruptions of scheduled flights.

By early Friday, Milan’s Linate airport reported the cancellation of over 20 flights, Italy’s Sky TG24 TV said, while several were also scrapped at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport.
