Thomas Cook boost for charity foundation

Thomas Cook has presented the Travel Foundation with a cheque for £90,000,
taking the total raised by the company to £481,463.
Thomas Cook has been working with the Travel Foundation for more than three years,
helping to raise funds via donations from customers booking Thomas Cook holidays. In
addition the company has supported various Travel Foundation initiatives, such as by
distributing children’s packs to families in resort and issuing DVDs to overseas
teams encouraging responsible tourism.

Thomas Cook has also worked with the Travel Foundation on a flagship project to
establish an eco-friendly hotel in Turkey. Best practices established within this
property will be shared with other hotels around the world.

Manny Fontenla-Novoa, CEO of Thomas Cook said: “Thomas Cook is a responsible company
and values its relationship with such a worthwhile organisation. Travel Foundation
is doing vital work in establishing sustainable tourism around the world. We are
proud to have been able to raise almost half a million pounds for them, and are
certain that the funds will be put to excellent use. We look forward to working with
the Travel Foundation in future to help further improve both the environmental and
social impact of tourism.”
