Active Hotels renames to Booking.com

Active Hotels Limited has with immediate effect changed its name to Booking.com Limited.

This name change decision follows over a year of significant investment within Priceline to enable recent acquisitions, Active Hotels and Bookings BV, to operate under a common business model on a pan-European basis. The principal benefit of the name change is a clear and memorable brand that can be promoted consistently to hotels, partners and employees as the business continues to expand internationally.

The company’s physical locations and personnel are not affected by the name change and its websites will continue to be marketed with differentiated products targeting their loyal and growing customer groups.

Stef Norden, CEO, Booking.com stated: “With organic growth rates of over 100% during the first 9 months of 2006 and over 10 million room nights forecast to be sold online in 2006 this name change reflects another exciting phase in our business development. By combining the operations of our European business under one name, our hotels, partners and staff can identify with one organisation, providing a clear focus for our ambitious growth and investment plans over the coming years.
