WORLDHOTELS boosts leisure portfolio

WORLDHOTELS has boosted its leisure offering by 27 per cent during 2006, counting now a total of almost 140 properties in this segment.
According to the organisation this is an effect of record membership applications during the first nine months of the year which saw over 400 requests for membership, and resulted in 30 new leisure hotels joining the portfolio to September.
Michael Ball, CEO of WORLDHOTELS said of the expansion, “The high-end leisure sector is of increasing importance to WORLDHOTELS, as we see demand growing for room nights in this sector by 50 per cent and for generated revenue by 60 per cent during the first nine months of this year. 85 per cent of our leisure properties belong to the WORLDHOTELS Deluxe or First Class Collection.”

New member hotels in 2006 include six properties from Forte Village Hotels in Santa Margherita di Pula (Sardinia/Italy),  a luxury resort set in 25 hectares of beachfront gardens; the Bintan Lagoon Resort (Bintan/Indonesia) with 473 spacious deluxe rooms, suites and villas of contemporary tropical elegance; and Villla Montana in Morelia (Mexico), overlooking the majestic world cultural heritage Morelia.

Group members Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and Lindner Hotels and Resorts for example allow WORLDHOTELS to offer a wide selection of leisure properties across Europe. Steigenberger, with its portfolio of 75 hotels, operates 17 spa and resort properties, such as the Steigenberger Resort Hotel Rügen in Sagard-Rügen. Lindner offers 12 resort properties amongst 23 hotels around Europe, in such recreational destinations as Portals Nous (Portugal), with its innovative wellness facilities.

Unique amongst hotel accommodation providers, the WORLDHOTELS portfolio consists of a wide range of carefully selected hotels across three distinct categories: Deluxe, First Class and Comfort Collection, offering travellers an exceptional and wide choice, whatever their budget and needs.
