World Travel Market breaks records

The UK’s World Travel Market (WTM) has racked up new exhibitors from Moldova, Cape Verde, Sudan and the Emirate state of Fujairah. It’s also introduced a focus on health and wellness sector. A total of 5,000 exhibitors from 202 countries and regions are plying their travel wares at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London’s Docklands.

“WTM tends to mirror the success of global tourism, which is doing extremely well,” said managing director of WTM, Fiona Jeffrey.

“International tourism spend is now running at $2 billion per day, with Africa maintaining the fastest growth in 2005 of nearly 8 percent.”
