Top chef Greenaway joins City Inn

City Inn has announced the appointment of Mark Greenaway
as Head Chef of City Café Glasgow. Armed with a wealth of culinary experience, Mark has worked in the
industry for over 15 years. Relocating to Australia in 1999, Mark spent
seven years at a number of the country’s most renowned restaurants,
including Minc and the Grand National, where as Head Chef, he was
awarded the coveted ‘Chef’s Hat’ by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food
Guide. Returning to the UK, Mark has been Head Chef at Strata, and most
recently at Room.

As Head Chef, Mark will continue to build on the success of City Café,
using his own flair to maintain the restaurant’s ethos of innovation,
seasonality, quality ingredients and original flavours.

Mark is confident his vast experience, ambition and skills will help him
maintain City Café as a destination eatery in Glasgow. He will be
responsible for the 70-cover modern European restaurant, which increases
to 130 during summer months, courtesy of the 60-cover riverside terrace,
as well as three private dining rooms and room service.

Mark comments: “I am thrilled to be involved with such a dynamic brand,
and look forward to building on the excellent reputation the restaurant
has enjoyed to date. Injecting my own expertise I believe City Café can
continue to grow as one of Glasgow’s finest restaurants.”

Mark Gallagher, General Manager at City Inn Glasgow, comments: “We are
so excited to welcome someone with Mark’s diverse experience. His time
in Australia will allow him to inject further originality to the menu -
something we welcome and applaud at City Inn”
